Chris’ coastal paintings evoked a deep sense of yearning in her to develop her art through painting the multi-faceted moods of the sea she always loved. Cale Louis Griffith
In 2012 Cale began creating art when snowed in and bored while staying at his parent’s home
when they were away. He advanced quickly from oil pastels to markers to acrylic paint as the
joy of creating became a passion for him. For the next 10 years he painted constantly as well
as filling sketch books with many drawings. He discovered digital apps that allowed him to
paint pieces on his phone that he printed and sold. He has a large body of work in several
mediums.
His painting work is abstract and intriguing. His digital works were sometimes totally abstract
or began with a photo of someone that he embellished with abstract shapes.
He died suddenly from a series of health issues at age 42 in Sept 2022.
Cale had been in several group exhibits but had his first Solo exhibit planned for 3 weeks later
after his passing. The gallery asked to go on with the show and to add a few early works to
make it a retrospective show. The opening drew over 150 viewers and several pieces sold.
He is greatly missed and his artwork is still sought after. His paintings are in collections all
around the country as well as internationally.
Elaine Knight Griffith (elaineKG)
Elaine started oil painting classes at age 11 and sold her first piece at age 14 years old. She
graduated from the School of the Worcester Art Museum, known since the 1800s till its closing
in 1981, for its curriculum of training in all areas of fine art.
Since graduating she has done freelance art work of all kinds, from logo design to murals and
is particularly known for her portraits- people, pets and home places. She also has exhibited at
shows in several areas of the country with awards at many. Her work is in private collections
nationally and internationally.
She works now in acrylics and watercolor with much interest in landscapes around her native
New England and from her international travels. Elaine has always enjoyed exploring mixed
media. She loves to stuff parts of the canvas before painting for a 3D effect that surprises
people when they look at the piece from a new angle.
She developed a special method to teach acrylic painting and how to see like an artist that
made creating art accessible to disabled, elderly and children; any and all fearful first time
painters. Her time was quickly took over with teaching full-time at many venues around
Worcester County and New England and beyond. She created an online training course for
other artists to learn to teach with this method to keep up with demand.
Retired now from full-time teaching, and having completed her latest commissions she is
excited to be painting from her heart again.
Maryclare J Heffernan
Living in New England is a gift in itself. I paint the beauty all around us. From seascapes, mountain ranges and fields of wildflowers to bird nests and plump golden pears. It’s like falling in love, over and over again.
Working in oils, watercolors, pencil, ink, I paint every day. Arriving late to the creation of art is this joyful discovery; the most treasured exploration of my life. My art has been juried into numerous shows, can be found in galleries throughout NE, and with collectors throughout the US.
Karen Bartone
Born in Hartford and raised in Simsbury, I now reside in Clinton, Connecticut, where my studio overlooks a serene woodland pond. The luminous New England landscape, with its forests, fields, marshes, and shores, deeply inspires my paintings. I often focus on the magical end-of-day light, capturing its fleeting beauty through both quick studies and extended sessions at the same time each day.
Christopher Nicholson
I am interested in exploring basic human emotions. Drawing and painting have long provided avenues for me to travel on this journey. I paint in the style that I do because it allows me to strip away associations with known objects so that I am left with pure feeling.

Sue Dion
I’m an artist who’s absolutely captivated by the beauty of nature—it’s an endless source of inspiration for me. Through my work, I love to share my impressions of this natural bounty using color and shape. Flowers often find their way into my paintings, even in my abstract pieces, which probably stems from my childhood spent among the blooms in my family's greenhouses. Growing up as the daughter of a second-generation wholesale florist, I spent countless hours playing and later working amidst the flowers.
I particularly enjoy experimenting with lost edges in my paintings. These are those intriguing spots where the edge of one shape seamlessly blends into another, creating a sense of mystery and discovery. It’s my way of sharing my vision while giving viewers the chance to interpret the pieces in their own unique way.
I’m also fascinated by the underlying structures that connect all forms of art—the melodic lines in music, the compositional balance in writing, and the graceful flow in dance. Each of these elements influences the others, and I relish the challenge of weaving these themes into my paintings. It’s all about capturing that universal rhythm and flow that resonates across different artistic disciplines.
